An individual counselling session is a private, supportive space where you can talk openly about what’s been weighing on you—at your own pace. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, disconnected, or working through past experiences, sessions are tailored to your unique needs and goals.
Joanne uses an integrative, trauma-informed approach, which means therapy may include different methods depending on what feels most helpful for you. These may include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and other evidence-based approaches. You will never be pushed into a technique before you feel ready, informed, and in control.
Sessions focus on helping you build coping skills, increase self-understanding, and create meaningful, sustainable change—while prioritizing safety, choice, and respect throughout the process.
